# How does ClickGuard track time on website

ClickGuard measures time on website with its tracking code. The clock starts the moment the code loads on your landing page and runs for the whole browser session, until the visitor closes the browser. Very short visits are a common sign of bots, so time on site helps ClickGuard spot invalid traffic.

When you install the website tracking code on your landing page(s), ClickGuard can measure the time visitors spend on your website.

Measuring time on site starts from the very moment our website tracking code loads. ClickGuard then tracks the **entire browser session** up until the point the visitor closes the browser and measures the time the user has spent browsing your landing page and the rest of the site.
