# How to disconnect my ad account

Remove an ad account from a website in Settings › Website › Connections: open the account, go to Danger zone and click Delete. To pause ClickGuard for a while instead, turn off the account's Click detection toggle. The account itself stays untouched on the ad platform.

Disconnecting an ad account removes it from one website in ClickGuard. ClickGuard stops protecting that account's campaigns for the website. Nothing changes in the account on the ad platform itself.

## Just want a break? Turn off click detection

If you only want to stop ClickGuard for a while, you don't need to disconnect the account. Turn off its click detection instead:

1. Open **Settings** (the gear icon at the top right).
2. Under **Website**, select **Connections**, and stay on the **Ad accounts** tab.
3. Switch the account's **Click detection** toggle to **Off**.

ClickGuard stops seeing that account's clicks, and its ad spend no longer counts toward your usage. The account stays connected with all its settings, so you can switch click detection back on at any time.

## Disconnect an ad account

1. Open **Settings** (the gear icon at the top right).
2. Under **Website**, select **Connections**, and stay on the **Ad accounts** tab.
3. Click the gear icon at the end of the ad account's row to open its details.
4. Scroll to **Danger zone** and click **Delete**.
5. Confirm with **Delete**.

You need permission to edit the website's connections. If the **Delete** button is greyed out, ask the workspace Owner.

## What happens next

- ClickGuard stops checking clicks and adding exclusions for that ad account on the website.
- The ad account, its campaigns and its settings stay as they are on the ad platform.
- You can connect the account again whenever you want.

## Remove ClickGuard's access completely

Disconnecting an ad account doesn't revoke the sign-in access you gave ClickGuard on the ad platform. To remove it too, see [How to remove ClickGuard's OAuth access](https://www.clickguard.com/help/managing-your-account/how-to-remove-clickguards-oauth-access).
