# Meta Ads clicks not showing in ClickGuard

If your Meta Ads clicks aren't showing up in ClickGuard, check four things, in this order: the credential still has access to the ad account, click detection is turned on, the tracking code is installed on your website, and your ad URLs include the campaign ID that ClickGuard needs.

If your Meta Ads clicks aren't showing up in ClickGuard, several things could be causing it. Below are the most common reasons, in the order to check them, and how to fix them.

Most of these settings are in **Settings** › **Connections** › **Ad accounts**. Click your Meta Ads account there to open its **Ad account settings**.

## 1\. The credential lost access to the ad account

This is the most common cause. ClickGuard connects to Meta Ads through a credential: the Facebook user who connected the account. If that user was removed from the ad account or lost their permissions, or the login expired, ClickGuard can no longer read the account.

**Solution:**

- In the ad account settings, check the **Credential**.
- If it no longer works, click **New credential** and sign in with a Facebook user who has access to the ad account.
- You can see all your credentials in the **Credentials** tab next to Ad accounts.

## 2\. Click detection is turned off

While click detection is off for an ad account, ClickGuard doesn't analyze its clicks.

**Solution:**

- In **Settings** › **Connections** › **Ad accounts**, turn on click detection for your Meta Ads account.

## 3\. The tracking code isn't installed

Meta Ads doesn't use a tracking template. ClickGuard reads your Meta Ads clicks through the tracking code on your website, which picks up the parameters Meta Ads passes to your landing page.

**Solution:**

- Install the tracking code on every page your ads link to. See [How to install ClickGuard's tracking code](https://www.clickguard.com/help/getting-started/install-clickguards-tracking-code).

## 4\. Your ad URLs don't include the campaign ID

ClickGuard needs each campaign's ID in the URL, in one of these parameters: `cgcid`, `cid`, `campaign_id` or `utm_campaign`. Most ads already have it.

**Solution:**

- If yours don't, add one of these to your ad URL parameters (you only need one):

```
cgcid={{campaign.id}}
cid={{campaign.id}}
campaign_id={{campaign.id}}
utm_campaign={{campaign.id}}
```
